The Yule of Six - Hoo's for Chicken this Christmas?

With Christmas fast approaching, after such an unsettled year, the time has finally come to start enjoying feeling festive. Our favourite tradition about the festive season is, of course, the food! With gatherings looking likely to be smaller in size this year, opting for an alternative to a whopping turkey, could be a wise decision.

Our whole chickens are the perfect fit for a “yule of six” as they naturally tend to be bigger in size, happily serving six portions.

Sutton Hoo Chickens are slow grown, reared for 25% longer than standard free-range chickens and 70% longer than standard indoor chickens, and we think that is something to be celebrated. In fact the chickens have more space to exercise, more time to grow, and a varied, natural diet, making them taste that much better.

We think that makes a Sutton Hoo roast chicken the perfect meal to mark a special occasions and just right for a family celebration this Christmas.

To make your roast chicken even more special, why not try our Roasted Sutton Hoo Chicken with clementine, herbs and nutmeg? Combining these festive, warming ingredients to your Christmas roast will definitely make it a meal to remember.

With so much uncertainty around plans for gatherings this year and possibly fewer numbers around the table come Christmas Day, we also have lots of comforting and warming recipes to help you love your leftovers, should there be any. You might like to try our festive Chicken in spiced red wine with sour cherries and make sure to try this Roast chicken and stilton soup made with your chicken stock.
