Celebrating 20 Years of the Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival

This year marked a special milestone for the Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival — its 20th anniversary. What began as a small gathering of local producers at Snape Maltings has grown into one of the most loved events in the Suffolk food calendar, drawing thousands of visitors each year to celebrate the region’s best food, drink and craftsmanship.

This year’s event was a wonderful celebration of everything Suffolk has to offer: the producers, the chefs, the farmers, and the food lovers who return year after year. From conversations with long-time customers to meeting new faces discovering our free-range chicken for the first time, it was a weekend full of connection and shared enthusiasm for good food raised the right way.

For Sutton Hoo Chicken, the festival holds a special place in our story. We were part of the founding year, when a handful of passionate producers came together with a shared belief in the importance of local, traceable food. Two decades on, that same spirit of community and care still defines the festival — and it’s something we’re incredibly proud to continue to be part of.

As we look ahead, we’re grateful to be part of a community that values provenance, sustainability, and flavour — and to the Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival for championing those values for the past 20 years. Here’s to the next 20!
